Brac Bank honors Munshiganj remittance champions


Brac Bank recognized Munshiganj remittance customers and held an awareness session on the benefits of remittances through banking channels.

The bank has honored the top ten recipients of remittances as “Remittance Champions of Munshiganj”, a district which accounts for one of the largest international remittances in Bangladesh, a press release reads. .

Over the years, Munshiganj has become a remittance hub with hundreds of thousands of people going abroad and sending money home to their families.

Brac Bank held a customer engagement program in the city of Munshiganj on March 30 where senior bank officials listened to customer feedback and suggestions.

Clients were informed in detail about Probashi products, savings and investment opportunities and banking services.

The bankers emphasized using legal channels and contributing to national development as it increases the country’s foreign exchange reserve, the statement read.

They also informed that recipients are eligible to instantly receive a 2.5% government incentive for bank remittances.

Bangladeshi expats can take advantage of Brac Bank’s extensive network, including 187 branches, over 700 bank agent outlets, 375 ATMs and the ‘ASTHA’ mobile app to send funds to any location of the country in a simple, fast and secure way. .

Among the local dignitaries participating in the program were Joint Secretary of Munshiganj District Awami League Advocate Sohana Tahmina, Additional SP (Traffic) of Munshiganj Police Rasel Monir, Councilor of Munshiganj City Council Nargis Akter , School Principal Brilliant KG Shahnaj Begum and Ariful Islam, Chairman, Munshiganj Bazaar Committee.

Head of Remittances and Probashi Banking Shahrear Zamil, Head of Payments and Transactions Unit Tasvim Alam Mallick, Head of Narayanganj Region Golam Mohammad, Munshiganj Branch Manager Asadul Islam, Manager from the Nitaiganj branch of Brac Bank Abu Sayed Mahamud were present at the ceremony.
